oro goldGardening can be a calming and relaxing pastime, not to mention that it yields a colorful array of beneficial fruits and vegetable for you to enjoy.  Growing your own food means that you know exactly what you are putting into your body.  There is no need to worry about genetically modified organisms, growth hormones, or how fresh the produce is.  If you want a fresh salad, it doesn’t get much fresher than the few minutes it takes to pick and prepare your vegetables.  The quality of the food you consume is extremely important, especially in the age of GMOs.   The food you eat, and the accompanying byproducts in some cases, has a major impact on your body’s overall health.

Before the produce, let’s talk about the products.  Healthy skin comes from a good diet and a good skin care routine.  It is important to wash your face in the morning and evening before bed.  A quick trip to the Oro Gold store and you will find the right cleansers and toners for your skin.  Follow this with Oro Gold moisturizing day cream during the day.  And remember you should never go to sleep with makeup on, it can clog your pores and cause breakouts.

Now for your produce to go with your Oro gold products.  Almost anyone can grow some sort of garden, whether it is a few window boxes or a few garden beds.  You should research what kind of produce does the best in your area.  You could start your plants from seeds or you could buy plants which are already sprouted.  Some plants need little attention while others need constant pruning and staking.  Choose what works best for your skill level and lifestyle.  Almost all vegetables and fruits have some vitamins and nutrients which will positively affect your skin.

Peppers –  Green, yellow, and red peppers are full of vitamin C.  This is an essential vitamin commonly found in citrus fruit.  Vitamin C serves two main purposes for your skin: collagen repair and protection from free radicals.  Peppers are extremely easy to grow and need little maintenance.

Cucumbers-  No doubt you have seen the stereotypical spa picture of a woman with a creamy face mask and cucumbers on her eyes.  Cucumbers are an old remedy for puffiness around the eyes, and maybe you have used them yourself, but have you ever wondered why?  Cucumbers contain antioxidants and a lot of water, making them sublimely moisturizing.  If the cucumbers are chilled, the puffiness around the eyes will quickly subside.  Cucumbers grow in vines and need a lot of space to grow.

Leafy Greens- Leafy greens like lettuce, kale, and spinach contain large amounts of vitamin E.  This vitamin works well with vitamin C to produce more of those beneficial antioxidants.  An additional benefit is that vitamin E can protect your skin from harmful ultraviolet rays.

So make sure that you include Oro Gold products and home grown (or locally grown) produce into your skin care routine for healthier and younger looking skin.
